Ms. Nethmi Weerasingha is a First Class Honours graduate of NSBM Green University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems (Special) with a GPA of 3.88. She began her academic journey at NSBM as a Lab Instructor, later advancing to the roles of Teaching Assistant, and Temporary Lecturer, and is currently serving as a Lecturer attached to the Department of Computer and Data Science in the Faculty of Computing.

Prior to her full-time academic career, she completed her industry training as an In-plant Trainee in Industrial Engineering at MAS Active (Pvt) Ltd – Linea Intimo, gaining valuable corporate exposure. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Weerasingha has actively contributed to the university community by serving in several key roles, including Course Coordinator for the UGC Data Science Program, Advanced Certificate Programs, and Computing Bridging Program. She has also served as the Mistress-in-Charge of the Music Club of NSBM and currently leads the Association of Computer and Data Science in the same capacity.

Her research interests are primarily focused in the domain of Computer and Data Science, with particular emphasis on Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Big Data, Data Warehousing and Mining, and Natural Language Processing. Through her academic and leadership contributions, Ms. Weerasingha remains dedicated to advancing both student learning and research excellence in the field.
