Profile

Attached to the Department of English and Modern Languages, Ms. Chamba contributes towards the various language requirements of the three faculties housed within the campus. Lecturing core language skills, via modules such as, Academic Writing, Business Communication, Culture & Society, Intercultural Communication and Presentation skills enhancement, are amongst her specialties. She is a proud alum of the University of Kelaniya, having obtained a BA in English, Classics and Drama & Theatre. Further, she attained her MA in English Studies from the University of Colombo. She is also an avid writer and poet, with experience in creative and corporate writing and communications for various external and internal commercial projects. Moreover, she has taught in various language programmes on a visiting capacity at national universities, prior to joining NSBM. Her research interests lie in Cultural studies, Gender dynamics, Sri Lankan literature, English language teaching and Sociolinguistics.
