INNOVENTRA 2026 Inspires Tech Entrepreneurship at NSBM Faculty of Computing
INNOVENTRA 2026, a guest lecture and workshop series on Technology Entrepreneurship, was successfully held on February 11, 2026, at the NSBM Auditorium, drawing the participation of over 450 students from the Faculty of Computing.
Organised with the objective of nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among undergraduates, INNOVENTRA 2026 focused on providing students with practical exposure to building, launching, and sustaining technology-driven ventures. The initiative was conceptualised and organised by Ms. Pavithra Subashini, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Industry Collaboration Unit of the Faculty of Computing, with the support of the NFORCE Club.
The event featured two exceptional guest speakers who shared their entrepreneurial journeys, insights, and strategies for success:
Mr. Dhanika Perera, Founder and CEO of Bhasha Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, widely recognised as the visionary behind Helakuru, PayHere, HelaPay and HelaGo, highlighted how locally driven innovation can create scalable technologies with national impact.
Mr. Tharindu Suraj, Founder and CEO of SRQ Robotics, who is an award-winning engineer with international experience in Australia and the USA, shared insights from his work in developing advanced unmanned aerial vehicles and robotics solutions for real-world applications.
