NSBM Green University Welcomes June 2026 Degree Intake Inauguration Ceremony

NSBM Green University proudly welcomed over 1,000 aspiring students to its vibrant academic community at the New Degree Intake Inauguration Ceremony for the June 2026 Intake. Held in three sessions at the university’s iconic green campus, the event marked the official commencement of a transformative educational journey for the newest members of the NSBM family.
The inauguration ceremony brought together university leadership, distinguished industry professionals, academic staff, students, and parents in a celebration of new beginnings, inspiration, and future opportunities.
The event was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Faculty Deans, Heads of Departments, and members of the academic and administrative staff.

The first session featured an inspiring keynote address by Mr. Suren Rajakarier, Country Managing Partner at KPMG, who encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, innovation, and leadership as they embark on their higher education journey. 
The second session welcomed another group of enthusiastic undergraduates and was highlighted by a keynote speech delivered by Eng. Janaka Rathnakumara, Group Chief Operating Officer of Wijeya Newspapers Ltd. Sharing valuable industry insights and professional experiences, he inspired students to pursue excellence and make meaningful contributions to society. The session also included welcome addresses and messages of encouragement for both students and parents as they embarked on this exciting new chapter.
The third and final session concluded the day’s celebrations on a high note with an impactful keynote address by Mr. Harendra Samarasinghe, Chief Executive Officer of MillenniumIT ESP. His address inspired students to embrace challenges, seize opportunities, and confidently shape their futures in an ever-evolving global landscape. 
 
Throughout the ceremony, students were warmly welcomed into the NSBM community through a series of addresses designed to inspire academic excellence, personal growth, and leadership. Adding further value to the programme, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake and Dr. Thilini De Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business, shared insightful perspectives on student life and academic success at NSBM. 
The event reflected NSBM Green University’s continued commitment to nurturing future-ready graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values required to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
