Pre-Workshop for Ideathon 1.0: IT Solution Project Idea Pitching & Proposal Writing

The CompuVate Association, attached to the Department of Software Engineering and Information Systems, Faculty of Computing, successfully hosted a Pre-Workshop on IT Solution Project Idea Pitching and Proposal Writing on 16th September 2025, in preparation for the upcoming Ideathon 1.0 Idea Generation Competition, scheduled to take place on 30th September 2025.
The session was conducted by Ms. Yasanthika Mathotaarchchi, Lecturer from the Faculty of Computing, who guided participants through the essentials of pitching innovative IT solutions and writing structured proposals. Key areas covered included proposal structure, ethics, common pitfalls, and aligning with industry expectations.
Through practical insights, interactive discussions, and constructive feedback, participants gained the necessary tools to craft professional and impactful proposals. The initiative empowered students to transform their creative concepts into well-structured submissions, laying a strong foundation for the upcoming competition among the four faculties.
The workshop was successfully organized by the undergraduates of the CompuVate Association, Faculty of Computing, with the guidance and support of Ms. Lakni Peiris, Mistress-in-Charge of CompuVate Association.
