“Innovate IT Expo”, a dynamic IT exhibition of the computing undergraduates from the UGC 22.2 batch, was held on 1st February 2024 at the Faculty of Computing. The exhibition featured the creative endeavours of undergraduates who presented innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges encountered in their day-to-day lives.

The occasion was graced by the Vice Chancellor Prof E.A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Dean of the Faculty of Computing Dr Chaminda Wijesinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate & Professional Advancement Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Academic staff of the faculty, Representatives from the industry.

“Innovate IT Expo” is part of a comprehensive three-month programme conducted for the UGC 22.2 batch, strategically scheduled between the 1st and 2nd year academic programs. During this period, students engaged in hands-on experiences, tackling diverse challenges and developing practical IT solutions to address the complexities of their day-to-day activities. As an outcome of this program, 14 groups participated in the exhibition with a myriad of creative and interesting IT solutions tailored to solve identified problems.
