Tourism Undergraduates at NSBM Hosts YAKARI 2026
YAKARI 2026, the annual gastronomic festival, was successfully held on 17th march 2026 for the Forth consecutive year at the NSBM Green University Premises, where visitors to the event were welcomed and presented with pure Sri Lankan tradition as well as exquisite taste!
This event was well organized by the Plymouth Tourism undergraduates of the 25.1 batch and NSBM Tourism undergraduates of 23.1 and 23.2 under the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management as a partial fulfilment of the modules: Introduction to Tourism and Events and, Food and Beverage Operations in collaboration with the International Center for Tourism and Hospitality (ICTH) and Foodies Club of NSBM Green University.
YAKARI 2026 was graced by the Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Thilini De Silva, Head of the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management, Miss Senelie Gunarathe, Mr. Venura Colombage, Module Lecturer: Dr. Lasitha De Silva and Mrs. Prabodya Munasingha, Mrs. Samadhi Dodantenna, Miss. Tharushi Attanayake and both academic and non-academic staff of NSBM Green University.
A special mention goes out to the honorary guests of Yakari ’26: Chef Sriyantha Prasad from Cinnamon Lakeside and Mr. Don Sherman.
