In commemoration of the sacred Vesak Full Moon Poya Day 2026, NSBM Green University blissfully hosted “හරිත කල්‍යාණ වෙසක් මංගල්‍යය” (Haritha Kalyana Vesak Celebrations) throughout the day on 27 May 2026, at the university premises.

Organized with devotion by the NSBM Buddhist Society along with students and staff, the day-long Vesak programme created a spiritually uplifting atmosphere across the university premises.

The programme commenced with the Morning Sambuddha Pooja at the University Buddha Shrine, followed by the Midday Sambuddha Pooja. 

A special Dhamma sermon delivered by Venerable Ankumbure Amithadeepa Thero of Mahamevnawa Monastery at the Student Centre Building offered spiritual guidance and reflections to the gathering.

As part of the Vesak celebrations, an Ice Cream Dansala and a Manioc and Tea Dansala were organized for students, staff members, and visitors, reflecting the spirit of generosity and compassion associated with Vesak.
