The Department of Design Studies of our Faculty of Engineering successfully conducted a two-day Teacher Training Program at the university premises for over 130 teachers from Bandaranayake Central College, Veyangoda.

 

The program was coordinated by Dr. Upeksha Hettitanthri, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Head of the Department of Design Studies. It was aimed at equipping educators with innovative teaching methodologies, the effective integration of AI tools in teaching and assessment preparation, and key concepts in Educational Psychology.

 

The occassion was graced by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Chandana Perera. The training sessions were facilitated by Dr. Piyumi Wickramasinghe, Dr. Upeksha Hettitanthri, Dr. Malsha Mendis, and Mr. Prasanna Perera, with the support of lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering.

 

The interactive and engaging program was designed to enhance professional competencies and promote effective, future-ready teaching practices through structured sessions and collaborative learning activities.
