Professor E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, was honoured with a distinguished Award of Recognition for his “exemplary leadership and visionary guidance” by Lions International District 306 D8 in Galle. 

This prestigious award recognizes Prof. Weerasinghe’s exemplary leadership, visionary guidance, and exceptional commitment towards supporting humanitarian initiatives aimed at creating sustainable social impact and unity within the Galle district.

The accolade was conferred in a prestigious ceremony during the 1st Annual District Convention, themed “Golden Roar: Building a Legacy of Excellence,”  held at the Araliya Beach Resort & Spa held on May 10, 2026.
