The second session of Coffee & Concepts, an initiative by the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (IQAU) and the Staff Development Center (SDC), was successfully hosted by the Faculty of Computing Quality Assurance Cell on 7th July 2025. This engaging and interactive session, titled “A Digital Leap for University Educators,” was led by two distinguished speakers – Dr. Mohomad Shafraz, Senior Lecturer & Head, Department of Software Engineering & Computer Security, and Mr. Isuru Sri Bandara, Lecturer, Department of Software Engineering & Computer Security.

 

The session explored the practical use of LMS platforms, simulations, virtual labs, and blended learning techniques, encouraging open discussion and the sharing of academic best practices. It provided a warm and collaborative space for academic networking, enriched by meaningful conversations and a touch of coffee and cookies.

 

The event was organized under the leadership of Ms. Yasanthika Mathotaarachchi, Lecturer and Faculty QA Cell Representative, accompanied by a dedicated team of Faculty of Computing staff, and held under the guidance of Dr. Malsha Mendis, Senior Lecturer and Head of the IQAU.
