Young Scientists’ Circle AGM 2025 Marks a New Chapter of Scientific Leadership at NSBM
The Young Scientists’ Circle (YSC) of the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science, NSBM Green University held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 30th July 2025 at the Green Boardroom, marking another milestone in the society’s journey of nurturing young scientific minds.
Graced by esteemed academics, the event welcomed the presence of Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwavila, Dean – Faculty of Science, Dr. Miruna Rabindrakumar, Head – Department of Life Sciences, along with academics of the faculty Dr. Madhavi Hewadikaram, Dr. Damayanthi Dahanayake, and Prof. Rohini De Silva.
The highlight of the AGM was the inspirational keynote address by Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, who emphasized the value of curiosity-driven inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the pivotal role that young scientists play in solving global challenges.
Organized under the guidance of Ms. Nivedha Uthayarajan, Lecturer-in-Charge of YSC, the AGM also featured a heartfelt tribute to the outgoing board (2024/25) for their dedicated service and impactful initiatives and the official induction of the new board for 2025/26, entrusted with steering the Circle into another vibrant year.
