The 2nd International Conference on Advanced Computing (ICACT 2025) Successfully Hosted by NSBM Faculty of Computing
The NSBM Faculty of Computing proudly marked another milestone in its academic journey with the successful hosting of the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Computing (ICACT 2025), held on 12th November 2025 at NSBM Green University. Building on the success of its inaugural edition, this year’s conference was held under the theme “The AI Cambrian Era: Redefining Life Through Secure and Intelligent Innovations”, continuing to serve as a dynamic platform for global knowledge exchange and collaboration. The conference featured over forty research presentations from both local and international scholars, covering a broad spectrum of emerging areas in computing.
The event commenced with the Inauguration Ceremony, held at the NSBM Auditorium. It was enriched by keynote speeches from Dr. Bo Li, a distinguished Course Chair of Bachelor of Data Science at the University of Victoria, and Mr. Thushera Kawdawatta, Managing Director – Sysco LABS, who shared insights on cutting-edge advancements and transformative trends in computing.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe; Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake; Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. J. Baratha Dodankotuwa; Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, and other distinguished members of the NSBM academic community. The occasion was also attended by faculty members, paper presenters, and students, creating an intellectually vibrant atmosphere of dialogue and discovery.
ICACT 2025 was successfully organized under the leadership of Conference Chair, Prof. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Head of the Department of Computer and Data Science; Conference Co-chair, Mr. S. Nasiketha; and Conference Secretary, Ms. Dulanjali Wijesekara, with the support of dedicated faculty members and organizing teams of the Faculty of Computing.
ICACT 2025 featured parallel research sessions which provided a forum for researchers to present their findings, engage in discussions, and exchange perspectives on the future trajectory of computing and technology.
The sessions were conducted in 7 tracks; Frontiers in Data Science & Innovation, Cyber Resilience & Next-Gen Computing Systems, Intelligent Vision, Imaging & Signal Processing, Human-centered Computing & Intelligent Enterprise Systems, Smart Ecosystems, IoT & Digital Transformation, Social Media Dynamics & Web Evolution, Emerging Trends in Computing & Beyond (Open Track), which presented 46 papers.
All accepted papers presented at ICACT 2025 were published in the ICACT 2025 Proceedings, marking another scholarly contribution by NSBM towards advancing computing research in Sri Lanka and beyond.
