The journey of our newest undergraduate and degree foundation batches began with an inspiring first day of orientation, themed “Discover Your University.”

Day 01 featured a dynamic lineup of sessions, including insightful talks by Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance; Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business; Dr. Chandana Perera, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwavila, Dean of the Faculty of Science.

Adding vibrancy to the day were performances by the NSBM Music Club, practical guidance on campus life, and the much-anticipated university tour led by the Volunteer Club—marking the beginning of many exciting experiences ahead.

 

The second day of the orientation programme was held under the theme “Be the Best Version of Yourself.” The day inspired students with thought-provoking sessions conducted by Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor; Senior DIG Ajith Rohana; Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Dr. Chamara Liyanage, Psychological Counselor and Facilitator. Adding a touch of energy and creativity, the NSBM Drama Club entertained with a lively performance.

 

Students also gained insights into embracing Life Beyond Academics through student life at NSBM. The afternoon concluded with the much-awaited Clubs & Societies Registration Session, where students signed up to explore their talents and passions.

 

Day 3 powered ahead with an exhilarating day of OBT & Treasure Hunt activities under the theme “Unlock Your Potential,” designed to spark teamwork, leadership, and creative thinking among the new entrants.

 

From the morning onward, our inspiring resource team, led by the Head of Student Affairs, Mr. Thisal Yatawara, guided a series of dynamic challenges where students embraced new experiences, shared laughter, and discovered the true power of collaboration.
