NutriBox Project To End All Forms of Malnutrition
The NutriBox project was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Homagama, in support of SDG 2: Zero Hunger, with a focus on Target 2.2 – Ending all forms of malnutrition.
The initiative delivers affordable, nutritious food to vulnerable communities by: Identifying groups most at risk of malnutrition; Designing NutriBox contents based on dietary needs; Sourcing fresh, affordable local ingredients; Packing and distributing NutriBoxes to selected households; Monitoring feedback for continuous improvement.
The project has improved the nutritional status of low-income families, raised awareness on balanced diets, and strengthened local economies by supporting small-scale farmers and producers. NutriBox represents a practical step toward a healthier, more sustainable, and hunger-free future.
The initiative was carried out by the 24.2 batch undergraduates as part of their CREST programme, showcasing their commitment to social responsibility and community development
