NSBM Welcomes February 2026 Intake with Three Inspiring Inauguration Sessions
NSBM Green University ceremonially welcomed the February 2026 Intake through three dynamic inauguration sessions, marking the beginning of a transformative academic journey for a new generation of undergraduates.
The university premises came alive with the energy of enthusiastic students and proud parents as Session 1 officially commenced. The ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe; Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake; Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. J. Baratha Dodankotuwa; Deans of the respective faculties; and members of the academic and administrative staff.
A key highlight of the first session was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Kapila Perera, Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development, who encouraged students to pursue their academic journey with clarity of purpose, ambition, and a strong sense of national responsibility. Further insights were shared by the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dr. Thilini De Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business, warmly welcoming students and parents to the vibrant NSBM community.
Session 2 continued the momentum as another cohort of students was inducted into the university. The occasion was further elevated by the presence of Prof. Darshana Sedera, Executive Dean of Southern Cross University, Australia, whose keynote address inspired students to embrace global opportunities and cultivate leadership in an interconnected world. The Vice Chancellor and senior academic leadership reaffirmed NSBM’s commitment to academic excellence and international collaboration.
The February 2026 Degree Inauguration concluded with Session 3, welcoming students attached to the Faculty of Science. The university was privileged to host Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, as keynote speaker. His address provided powerful insights into the role of science in national development and the responsibility of future professionals in shaping sustainable healthcare and innovation ecosystems.
Throughout all three sessions, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake and Dr. Thilini De Silva offered valuable guidance to students and parents, highlighting the academic rigor, industry exposure, and global pathways available at NSBM.
