NSBM Green University marked the dawn of the New Year 2026 with a special ceremony held at the university premises. The year 2026 holds special significance for NSBM as we celebrate our 10th anniversary—a remarkable milestone that reflects a decade of growth, excellence, and impact.

 

The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, symbolising prosperity and new beginnings. The ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe; Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake; Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa; Deans of the faculties; and members of the academic and non-academic staff of NSBM.

 

Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor outlined the university’s strategic plans for the year ahead and extended his best wishes to the NSBM community for a successful and productive New Year.
