NSBM Literature Circle Carries Out Community Outreach at Castle Hospital
The Literature Circle of NSBM recently carried out a heartfelt community outreach on the 23rd of May 2025 at Castle Hospital, Colombo — a meaningful initiative dedicated to celebrating Mother’s Day and honoring their strength, love, and resilience.
The day began with a vibrant entertainment program specially curated for all expecting mothers at the hospital. Members of the Literature Circle performed songs related to motherhood — melodies close to the hearts of many mothers, including some of their favorites — filling the wards with warmth, nostalgia, and joy. The program continued with reflective literature reviews and readings, bringing comfort and inspiration through the power of words.
In a further act of compassion, the club also donated essential items to support the well-being of the pregnant mothers. This thoughtful gesture aimed to uplift and empower, offering a helping hand to those nurturing new life. It was a heartfelt expression of the empathy, care, and social responsibility that the Literature Circle holds at its core.
This meaningful endeavor was brought to life by undergraduates and lecturers who contribute in every way possible, a special thanks also goes to CBL and the dedicated members of the Literature Circle whose tireless efforts and generous spirits left a lasting impression. A true testament to how art and action, together, can inspire change.
