NSBM Green University, the nation’s premier degree awarding institute, officially welcomed its newest undergraduate batch for the June 2025 Intake with the inauguration ceremony held on 16th June at its iconic green campus.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in NSBM’s remarkable journey, as over 1,000 new students embarked on their higher education pathways across a diverse array of undergraduate programmes offered by the Faculties of Business, Computing, Engineering, and Science. The inauguration was held in three sessions, each providing an engaging and informative experience through keynote speeches, presentations, and orientation sessions designed to guide the new entrants through the academic and operational essentials of university life at NSBM.
Each session was graced by distinguished chief guests who brought unique perspectives and words of inspiration to new entrants. Among them were Former Army Commander, General Daya Ratnayake, and Mr. Chanuka Wattegama, Director – Policy at the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka.
The Vice Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, along with university top management, faculty members, parents, and students, were present to witness this celebratory beginning. During the event, students were congratulated for choosing NSBM—a globally recognized institution committed to academic excellence and student development. They were encouraged to make the most of the university’s cutting-edge facilities, modern infrastructure, and dynamic international-level learning environment.
Notably, NSBM launched registration for the June intake immediately after the release of the G.C.E. Advanced Level results and completed the enrollment process within a short time. This allowed after A/L students for a timely commencement of academic activities, over coming delays that occurred in conducting the A/L examination.
This new intake offers over 50 degree programmes, ranging from NSBM offered degrees to foreign qualifications delivered in collaboration with top-ranked universities. With a highly qualified academic panel and an industry-aligned curriculum, NSBM equips its students with the skills, mindset, and knowledge needed to succeed in a fast-changing world.
NSBM’s journey is one of impact and transformation. To date, the university has produced more than 20,000 graduates and is currently home to over 12,000 undergraduates. Driven by a national mission and global vision, NSBM Green University continues to uphold its reputation as the most sought-after higher education institution in Sri Lanka
