This 26th October, NSBM Green University proudly celebrates nine remarkable years of excellence, growth, and innovation in higher education. Marking this significant milestone, a series of Religious Blessing Ceremonies and commemorative activities were held to honour the university’s inspiring journey and invoke blessings for its continued success and prosperity.

The anniversary celebrations commenced with a serene Bodhi Pooja ceremony conducted near the Buddha statue at the university’s main entrance, under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe. The event was graced by Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. J. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of faculties, and members of the academic and administrative staff, who joined in prayer for wisdom, peace, and progress.

Continuing the spirit of inclusivity and harmony, the NSBM Hindu Society organised “Naadham’25”, a Hindu religious observance held at the NSBM Student Centre. The ceremony began with a traditional Ganesha Pooja led by a Hindu priest, invoking blessings for the university, its staff, and students. The vibrant event featured captivating traditional music and dance performances that added cultural richness to the celebration, followed by an offering of traditional delicacies shared in gratitude and fellowship.

As part of the university’s 9th Anniversary commemorations, the NSBM Islamic Society hosted a special cultural event that reflected the spirit of unity and mutual understanding. The programme included the recitation of Qaseeda and an inspiring Bayan session conducted by Nashik Farook Tanweeri Moulavi, followed by cultural refreshments and interactive fellowship. The occasion beautifully celebrated diversity and togetherness within the NSBM community.

The NSBM Catholic & Christian Society also came together in faith and gratitude to organise a special Holy Mass in celebration of the 9th Anniversary. This meaningful gathering served as a moment of thanksgiving, reflection, and prayer—honouring God’s blessings and guidance that have illuminated NSBM’s remarkable journey over the years.

Through these religious and cultural observances, NSBM Green University reaffirmed its commitment to embracing diversity, fostering unity, and continuing its journey of excellence in education and human development.
