NSBM Faculty of Science marked a historic milestone today, proudly celebrating the inaugural graduating batch at NSBM Convocation Week 2025.

 

Day 2, Session 1 witnessed the graduation of the inaugural batch of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biomedical Science and the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nutrition and Health degree programmes. A total of 100 pioneering students crossed the stage, opening a new chapter not only in their own lives but also in the evolving academic journey of the Faculty of Science.

 

Degrees were conferred by the Vice-Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, together with Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwawila, Dean of the Faculty of Science. The ceremony was further enriched by a keynote address delivered by Prof. Narada Warnakulasooriya, Emeritus Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

 

This momentous occasion was graced by the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. J. Baratha Dodankotuwa, along with academics, parents, and well-wishers.

 

S W A Himangka Shashindri Yumena Samarathunga was awarded as the Best Performer of Bachelor of Science Honours in Biomedical Science.
