The Faculty of Science at NSBM Green University proudly held the Nursing Pledge Ceremony 2025 on 14th November 2025 at the NSBM Auditorium, marking a significant milestone for 65 Nursing undergraduates of the Faculty of Science as they stepped forward in their professional journey.

The ceremony was graced by Ms. H. M. W. Herath, Registrar of the Sri Lanka Nursing Council, as the Chief Guest. Mr. D. M. Wimalarathna, Principal of the Post Basic College of Nursing, attended as the Guest of Honour.

 

The event was distinguished by the presence of Professor Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwavila, Dean – Faculty of Science, Ms. K. D. V. S. Dissanayake, Special Grade Nursing Tutor – Public Health, Regional Training Center, MOH Office, Homagama.

 

Senior Grade Nursing Officers and Nursing Sisters from Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital also joined as external invitees. The proud parents of undergraduates were present to witness this heartfelt moment.

 

This memorable ceremony celebrated the nursing students’ solemn vow to serve humanity with compassion, integrity, and dedication. To mark their transition into the noble profession of nursing, they were ceremoniously presented with nursing caps and traditional three-wick lamps—symbols of knowledge and the compassionate, skillful care they are entrusted to uphold.
