NSBM Association of Information Systems Hosts GITZEN 1.0 – Exploring GitHub & Python

NSBM Association of Information Systems successfully hosted GITZEN 1.0 on 17th March 2026, delivering an engaging and knowledge-driven session centered on GitHub and Python. The event served as a valuable platform for students to expand their technical expertise, gain practical exposure, and develop a more profound understanding of essential tools widely used in the industry.
A key highlight of the session was the insightful contributions from industry experts representing Sysco Labs Sri Lanka—Mr. Nikila Fernando, Senior DevOps Engineer, and Mr. Pubudu Harischandra, Senior Site Reliability Engineer. Their session provided valuable perspectives on real-world applications, encouraging participants to strengthen their skills and adapt to evolving technological practices.
The event was held in the presence of distinguished academic representatives, including Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing; Professor Chaminda Wijesinghe, Head of Computer and Data Science; Ms. Pavithra Subhashini, Head of the Industry Collaboration Unit; Mr. Chamara Dissanayake, Senior Lecturer attached to the Computer Security Department; Ms. Thisarani Wickramasinghe, Lecturer attached to the Software Engineering Department; and Ms. Dharani Rajasinghe, Mistress-in-Charge of the Association of Information Systems, alongside the dedicated academic staff.
