The NEXT – NSBM Employment eXploration and Transition, organized by the Industry Collaboration Unit of the Faculty of Computing, was successfully held on 5th June 2025 at NSBM Green University. The event was designed to enhance career readiness among recent graduates by offering valuable insights, strategic career guidance, and tools for professional development.

Targeted at students who recently completed their degree programmes from the Faculty of Computing in affiliation with the University of Plymouth, UK, the programme provided a comprehensive platform to understand current industry expectations, identify emerging opportunities, and navigate competitive recruitment processes with confidence. It also shed light on potential pathways for higher studies and advanced academic pursuits.

Initiated and organized by Ms. Pavithra Subashini, Senior Lecturer and Head of Industry Collaboration – Faculty of Computing, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe and Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, the event brought together an esteemed lineup of speakers from academia and industry.

The programme featured sessions by: Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor – NSBM Green University; Mr. Shenal Colonne, Vice President – Delivery, Virtusa Pvt Ltd; Mr. Krishantha Dinesh, Chief Architect – Brandix Digital; Dr. Udara Arachchige, Senior Lecturer – Faculty of Engineering and Ms. Pavithra Subashini, Senior Lecturer / Head – Industry Collaboration – FOC.

The event was also graced by the presence of key faculty members of the Faculty of Computing, including  Dr. Mohomad Shafraz, Head – Department of Software Engineering and Computer Security, Mr. Chamara Disanayake, Senior Lecturer, and many other academic and non-academic staff members of FOC.
