IEEE NSBM Student Branch Successfully Hosts 2026 Annual General Meeting

The IEEE NSBM Student Branch successfully held the 2026 Annual General Meeting, marking the beginning of a dynamic new term filled with promise and innovation.
 
The event was honored by the distinguished presence of Prof. Tharaka Samarasinghe, Chair of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, and Mr. Uvindu Kodikara, Section Student Representative. We were also pleased to welcome Ms. Isurika Weerasinghe, Vice Chair of Awards and Recognition, who attended as the representative for Mr. Yohan Joseph, the Student Activities Committee Chair of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section.
 
We were privileged to have Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, and Prof. Chaminda Wijesinghe join us for this milestone occasion. The continuous guidance and steadfast support of Branch Counselor of the IEEE NSBM Student Branch, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake and the mentorship of Mr. Gayan Perera, Ms. Chathurma Wijesinghe, and Ms. Kaumadee Samarakoon played a significant role in making the AGM a success.
 
A major highlight of the evening was the official launch of the new annual magazine, a milestone that reflects our commitment to showcasing student research and creativity. With the induction of the new Executive Committee, the IEEE NSBM Student Branch is ready to embark on a year of impactful projects, professional growth, and strengthened community engagement, confident that this new leadership team will drive even greater success in 2026.
