Hacktivate’25, the inter-university hackathon organized by the Circle of Cloud and Cyber Innovation (CCCI) of the Faculty of Computing, NSBM Green University, was successfully held on 19th August 2025. The event, powered by the partnership between Victoria University and NSBM, created an exciting platform for young innovators to showcase their skills in problem-solving and teamwork.

 

The competition attracted 25 team applications from universities across Sri Lanka, out of which 12 finalists were selected to battle it out in the final round. The finalists represented NSBM Green University, University of Moratuwa, University of Colombo, Rajarata University, APIIT, and Java Institute.

 

After a day of intense coding and brainstorming, the judging panel of industry experts selected the top three winners. The Java Institute, University of Moratuwa, and APIIT teams respectively secured the top positions, while all participants were praised for their creativity and technical ability.

 

The panel featured Mr. Isuru Navoda Liyanage (Senior Software Engineer, Surge Global), Mr. Nonim Samarakoon (Engineer, Experience Engineering), and Mr. Yasiru Perera (Lead Engineer – Systems & Security, Connex Information Technologies), who also shared valuable insights.

 

Beyond competition, Hacktivate’25 celebrated the spirit of innovation and collaboration, setting the stage for an even bigger journey ahead.
