The FOSS Community of NSBM Faculty of Computing held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 on 27th February 2026 at the Green Boardroom, marking an important milestone in promoting open-source culture, innovation, and collaborative learning among students.

 

The event was graced and welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Computing Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computing Mr. Saravanapavan Nasiketha, together with members of the academic staff of the Faculty of Computing.

 

The AGM was conducted under the guidance of the FOSS Lecturer-in-Charge Lecturer, Ms. Thisarani Wickramasinghe, and the WIF–FOSS Lecturer-in-Charge Lecturer, Ms. Nimesha Hewawasam, whose continuous support helps strengthen the open-source community within the faculty.

 

The meeting served as an important platform for members to reflect on the achievements of the past year while presenting the vision and strategic direction of the FOSS Community to the newly appointed leadership team.

 

During the event, appreciation was extended to the outgoing committee for their dedication and contributions during 2025/2026. The AGM concluded with the official induction of the new committee for the year 2026/2027, who will lead the FOSS Community forward with new initiatives, ideas, and a continued commitment to promoting open-source development and collaboration within the university.
