Embassy of Japan Delegation Visits NSBM to Strengthen Academic Ties

NSBM Green University was honoured to welcome a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka, marking another significant step in strengthening academic diplomacy and fostering international collaboration.
The visiting delegation included Mr. Shinichi Murata, First Secretary – Head of Political Section; Ms. Mioko Kawamoto, Third Secretary – Cultural Section; and Ms. Miyuki Eguchi, First Secretary – Head of Cultural and General Affairs. They were accompanied by the leadership of the Japanese Graduates’ Alumni Association of Sri Lanka (JaGAAS), led by its President, Dr. Sunil Jayantha Navaratne.
The visit commenced with a guided tour of NSBM’s state-of-the-art facilities, green campus, and modern academic environment. The delegation was introduced to the university’s sustainability initiatives, technological advancements, and academic excellence.
Following the campus tour, the delegation engaged in a formal discussion with the NSBM senior management team, headed by Vice Chancellor Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe. The dialogue focused on strengthening academic ties, exploring collaborative opportunities in education and research, and fostering cultural exchange between NSBM and institutions in Japan.
