Marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey, we warmly welcomed the newest cohort of the 9th IFSLS intake through the Degree Orientation Programme, which started on 17th July 2025 at the NSBM Auditorium.

 

Themed “Discover Your University,” the first day of orientation was designed to help students transition smoothly from school life to university life, while immersing them in the vibrant culture and values of NSBM.

 

The day comprised insightful sessions delivered by the Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ms. Thilini De Silva and other senior academics that set the tone for what promises to be a transformative experience at NSBM.

 

The day concluded with a comprehensive campus tour, giving students an opportunity to explore the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, green spaces, and academic facilities.

 

The momentum of the Degree Orientation Programme continued into Day 02 held on 18th July 2025 under the theme “Be the Best Version of Yourself.” This day was thoughtfully curated to guide freshers through self-discovery, personal development, and mindset-building—core elements for a thriving university life.

The programme featured interactive sessions designed to help students cultivate emotional resilience, build self-confidence, and develop a positive, growth-oriented mindset—all of which are essential traits for academic and personal success.

In the latter part of the day, students participated in faculty-specific orientation sessions, where they received an in-depth overview of their respective faculties and the day concluded with Senior Orientation Sessions that created a valuable platform for peer-to-peer interaction, as senior students shared their own experiences to navigate and succeed in university life.
