His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Sri Lanka, paid a distinguished visit to NSBM Green University on 3rd June, marking a significant step towards fostering stronger educational ties between the two nations.
Upon his arrival at NSBM, the Ambassador was warmly received by Vice-Chancellor Prof. E.A. Weerasinghe. The visit featured engaging discussions on potential avenues for academic collaboration between Türkiye and Sri Lanka, highlighting shared aspirations for innovation-driven education and global academic partnerships.
The Ambassador toured NSBM’s state-of-the-art facilities, witnessing firsthand the modern infrastructure and forward-thinking developments in NSBM Phase 2. Adding an inspiring touch to the visit, he also conducted an insightful lecture, interacting with NSBM students and sharing valuable perspectives from his diplomatic journey.
A symbolic tree planting ceremony was held in honour of the visit, where the Ambassador planted a Na tree—Sri Lanka’s national tree—leaving a lasting mark of collaboration on NSBM soil.
