The Project Management Circle of the Department of Operations and Logistics organized a field visit to Port City Colombo on 4th May 2026. The visit provided students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to one of Sri Lanka’s most significant large-scale development projects.

 

During the visit, students actively participated in the session, where they learned about the project’s master plan, sustainability initiatives of this large-scale development, and its long-term vision. The session also highlighted the key challenges and considerations involved in managing such large-scale developments, helping students understand the practical application of project management concepts.

 

The Lecturer-in-Charge of the Project Management Circle, Ms. Sithumini Jayasekara, also participated in the visit, encouraging and supporting student engagement beyond the classroom.
