NSBM Hosts 7th CPD Session on “Beyond Grades: Cultivating Graduate Attributes through Authentic Assessment”

The Quality Assurance and Staff Development Center of NSBM Green University successfully conducted its 7th Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Session for 2025, titled “Beyond Grades: Cultivating Graduate Attributes through Authentic Assessment,” on Friday, 21st November 2025, at the Green Board Room, NSBM Green University.
The session was conducted by Prof. Shironica P. Karunanayaka, Senior Professor in Educational Technology and Director of the Centre for Educational Technology & Media (CETMe). She also serves as the Honorary Chair – Commonwealth of Learning (COL Chair) and is a Member of the Board of Directors of Open Education Global. Her extensive expertise in educational technology, open education, and assessment innovation brought valuable insights to the NSBM academic community.
Academic staff and programme leaders representing multiple disciplines attended the session and actively contributed to discussions on building assessment frameworks that support meaningful learning, employability skills, and real-world application.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Shaja Musthaffa, Head – Department of Operations and Logistics, under the guidance of Dr. Malsha Mendis, Head of Internal Quality Assurance, and with the leadership of Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance.
