Faculty of Computing Hosts Insightful Session on Integrating AI into Teaching Practices

In our ongoing commitment to integrating AI into our teaching practices, the Faculty of Computing hosted an engaging information-sharing session titled “Redefining Pedagogy in Higher Education with AI”. The session was conducted by Prof. Nalinda Somasiri, Associate Dean – Computer & Data Science, Associate Professor at York St. John University, UK, with extensive expertise in Generative AI and Machine Learning.
 
The session, organized under the guidance of Ms. Pavithra Subashini, Senior Lecturer and Ms. Pavithra Subashini – Head of Industry Collaboration of the Faculty of Computing, attracted academic staff keen to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in education.
 
During the session, Prof. Somasiri delved into how AI can create personalized, adaptive, and efficient learning experiences that enhance student engagement and cater to diverse learning needs. He highlighted practical strategies for integrating AI into teaching practices, emphasizing its potential to transform higher education.
