Senelie Gunaratne graduated from the University of Plymouth (UK), with a First Class Honours in BSc. Events, Tourism & Hospitality Management. In her year, she secured the Plymouth Partnership Prize and the Award for Best Performance in the Faculty of Business (NSBM Green University). She was also awarded the prize for the best research in Events, Tourism and Hospitality by Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts in 2023. Consequentially, she joined NSBM Green University as an academic in September 2023. 

Ms. Gunaratne’s field of interest is in the tourism sector, and she is equipped with knowledge in tour operations and tourism management which was largely supported by her experience with Horizon Voyages (Pvt) Ltd., a tour operator in Sri Lanka. She also has worked in the media sector as an English Presenter and a Public Speaker with her experience at Pulse and Charana TV. Her experience as a compere began during her time as a student at Asian International School and continued to thrive at the International Center for Tourism and Hospitality (ICTH) as an undergraduate. She now serves as a lecturer-in-charge of the ICTH. Furthermore, she has industry volunteering experience in several travel trade events and exhibitions as well as community volunteering experience with the United Nations and other NGOs.
