Profile

Panchali Maheshakya is an interior designer with a first class in Bachelor of Interior design and  professional experience in the field, marked by her involvement in a variety of creative and concept-driven interior design projects. Her industry work has strengthened her ability to blend aesthetics with functionality, while also shaping her understanding of how design can meaningfully enhance user experience and spatial quality. 

Currently, Panchali serves as an academic, where she contributes to design education through teaching, mentoring, and guiding emerging designers. Her transition into academia reflects her passion for knowledge-sharing and her commitment to fostering a new generation of thoughtful and socially conscious design professionals. Her research interests center on co-design concepts and the integration of social sciences within interior design, focusing on how participatory, community-engaged approaches can lead to more inclusive and culturally responsive spaces. Panchali is particularly interested in how design can empower people and improve everyday interactions with the built environment.
