Ms. Navodi Liyanage

Ms. Navodi Liyanage is a Temporary Lecturer attached to the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science, NSBM. She obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Food Science and Technology with First Class Honours from the University of Peradeniya in 2022 and is currently reading for an MSc in Food Science and Nutrition at the same university. 

For her academic and research excellence, she was awarded the ‘Fonterra Brands Gold Medal for Food Science and Nutrition’ for achieving the highest CGPA in core subjects – Biochemistry, Food Microbiology, Food and Nutrition, Principles of Human Nutrition, Food Safety, and Applied Human Nutrition; received the University Prize for Academic Excellence; was the 2nd Runner-Up in the oral presentations at the Faculty of Agriculture Undergraduate Research Symposium (FauRS) 2021/22; and was awarded a Merit Award by the Sri Lanka Inventors’ Commission at FauRS for her undergraduate research. 

Ms. Navodi served as a Trainee at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Sri Lanka, as a Research Assistant for a Commonwealth of Learning Chair Research Project at the Faculty of Education, Open University of Sri Lanka, and as a Product Development Executive at Siyon Food Ingredients, managing key accounts in the USA, Europe, India, China, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.
