2015
- Held the first convocation ceremony of NSBM degree programmes affiliated with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia.
- Held the inaugural Graduation Ceremony of Plymouth University, UK for the degree programmes offered in collaboration with NSBM.
- Held the inception convocation of Postgraduate Diplomas.
- Won the Gold Award for 2014-15 Annual Report of the State Corporation & Statutory Bodies at the Annual Report Competition of ICASL.
- Publication of the first-ever NSBM Journal of Management
2016
- NSBM turned a new leaf in higher education on 26th October 2016 by opening NSBM Green University Town at Mahenawatta, Pitipana, Homagama.
- Signed the agreement with University of Western Australia
- Signed MOU with Murdock University, Australia.
- Partnered with Stockholm University, Sweden, for capacity capacity-building project for doctoral education.
- Affiliated with Victoria University, Australia.
- An MOU was signed with the University of Plymouth, UK to offer Engineering Degree Programs.
- Won the Gold Award for 2015 Annual Report of the State Corporation & Statutory Bodies at the Annual Report Competition of ICASL.
- Won first place for the National Business Excellence in State Sector Services category at the National Business Excellence Awards.
2017
- First Anniversary Celebration of NSBM Green University
- Commenced degree programs in the fields of Business Management & Information Technology in collaboration with Victoria University.
- Commenced NSBM MBA program approved by UGC.
- Won the Gold Award for being the most excellent business organization in the state sector at the National Business Excellence Award 2017.
- Gold Award under State Sector Category in the 53rd Annual Report Awards organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
- Gold Winner of the Sri Lankan Best website in Education and Professional Services Category in 2017.
- Held the NSBM’s first-ever career fair and launched the first industry partnership programme.
- Carried out the first China-Sri Lanka student exchange programme.
- First sports meet at NSBM for students.

- Investing in Full-fledged Infrastructure to transform into online learning
- Donating Rs. 10 million to COVID – 19 and social security fund
2021
- Establishment of Faculty of Science and started offering UGC approved degrees in the streams of science.
- Laying the foundation stone for NSBM Phase II.
- Signed the agreement for the Interest-Free Student Loan Scheme with the Ministry of Education to offer nearly 1,000 seats annually
- Opening of International Centre for Modern Languages at Faculty of Business.
