Ms. Tharushi Piyumalee is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at NSBM Green University. She holds a Master of Science in Business Economics from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, where she graduated with a Merit pass. Her postgraduate studies included coursework in Advanced Microeconomics, Advanced Macroeconomics, Development Economics, Applied and Advanced Econometrics, Time Series Econometrics, Program Evaluation Techniques, and Research Methodology.
 
She completed her undergraduate degree in 2020, earning a BSc in Business Administration (Business Economics) (Special) with First Class Honours and a GPA of 3.96 out of 4.00.
 
Ms. Piyumalee has substantial experience in undergraduate teaching, delivering courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Quantitative Techniques, Mathematics for Economics, and Business Statistics. Her research interests focus on applied econometrics, development economics, labour economics, and public economics.
 
Beyond her academic responsibilities, she is actively engaged in curriculum development, quality assurance processes, undergraduate research supervision, and student mentorship. She plays a key role in NSBM’s academic and professional development initiatives, demonstrating a strong commitment to both student success and institutional advancement.
