Profile
Attached to the English Language Teaching Unit at the Faculty of Computing, Ms. Disnika contributes towards the diverse language requirements of students across the faculties housed within the university. She lectures core language skills through modules such as Academic Writing, Business Communication, and Language Skill Development, with a strong focus on enhancing students’ academic literacy and communicative competence.
She is a proud alumnus of the University of Peradeniya, having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Second Upper Division in English, Greek and Roman Studies and Management. Further, she has recently completed her Masters degree in International Relations at the University of Peradeniya.
Prior to this, she worked as a Temporary Instructor in English at the Department of English Language Teaching (DELT), University of Peradeniya, as a Temporary Demonstrator at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, and as a Data Processing Executive at HSBC Data Processing Lanka Pvt Ltd.
Her research interests span across communication studies, language and society, International Relations, Greek and Roman studies, and the intersection of language, Artificial Intelligence, and contemporary knowledge systems.
