Profile

Mr. Sachindu Madhushara is a distinguished nursing graduate of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing with First Class Honours from the Faculty of Nursing. He was awarded the Gold Medal for Academic Excellence in Nursing at the 2023 General Convocation of the University of Colombo, in recognition of his outstanding academic performance. During his undergraduate studies, he consistently demonstrated high academic merit and was a recipient of multiple Dean’s Awards.

He achieved national distinction by securing 6th place in the national merit list for the 2017/18 intake of the Bachelor of Nursing degree program. In addition, he was recognized as the Best Oral Presenter at the International Nursing Conference 2024 held at the University of Colombo, highlighting his strengths in research dissemination and academic communication.

His clinical training encompassed diverse healthcare settings, including the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, De Soysa Maternity Hospital, National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Cancer, Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital, Colombo South Teaching Hospital, and the Medical Research Institute of Sri Lanka. He is a Registered Nurse under the Sri Lanka Nursing Council and a member of the Graduate Nurses’ Foundation of Sri Lanka.

Following the completion of his degree, he served as a Junior Nursing Officer at King’s Hospital, Sri Lanka, and as a Temporary Demonstrator at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, contributing to both clinical practice and academic teaching. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, further advancing his expertise in healthcare and workplace safety.
