Ms.Samadhi Dodantenna currently serves as a Temporary Lecturer at the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management of Faculty of Business at NSBM Green University.
Ms.Samadhi is a dedicated academic and industry professional with a robust blend of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in the hospitality and tourism sector. She brings a comprehensive, real-world perspective to her role, enriching the student learning experience.
Her academic foundation is marked by excellence. She earned her Bachelor of Business Management (Honors) in Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management from Uva Wellassa University, graduating with First Class Honors. Her academic performance was distinguished by dual accolades: Best Performing Student at the Department of Tourism Studies and Best Performing Student in the BBM Honors in Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management degree program. She further complements her qualifications as a Passed Finalist of the Chartered qualification in Human Resource Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka.
Her professional background spans multiple critical areas of the tourism industry, including revenue management in boutique hotels and OTA operations, reservations management, and hotel operations. She has also gained valuable insight into national-level tourism policy and stakeholder coordination through her previous role within the Ministry of Tourism. This diverse experience has equipped her with strong analytical, marketing, and managerial skills that she seamlessly integrates into her teaching and research.
Passionate about mentoring the next generation of tourism leaders, she actively contributes to student development beyond the classroom by supporting various student activities, where she promotes innovation, leadership, and academic excellence.
Her teaching and research interests include sustainable tourism and Experience Based Tourism, Tourism Product Marketing, Events Tourism and Community-Based Tourism
