Quality Assurance and Staff Development Center (QASDC)

QASD Framework
Primary Goal
The primary goal of the Quality Assurance and Staff Development (QASD) framework at NSBM is to ensure and continually enhance the academic quality and standards of its academic offerings while delivering a high-quality learning experience for students. This framework is designed to safeguard the integrity, relevance, and effectiveness of educational programs and institutional processes through clearly structured internal and external mechanisms.
Core Objectives
Academic Standards Assurance
Ensures that the design, delivery, and assessment of academic modules meet appropriate levels and that program aims are fulfilled.
Quality Learning Experience
Emphasizes effective teaching, relevant curricula, competent program management, and robust academic support.
Student Achievement Opportunities
Relates to employability, personal satisfaction, and the development of a graduate profile that reflects NSBM’s educational values.
At the governance level, the framework is led by the Senate and operationalized through the QASDC. These bodies are tasked with monitoring academic standards, reviewing curricula, and managing the appointment of internal and external examiners. Furthermore, the QASDC supports documentation, induction, and queries related to quality assurance. A significant feature of the framework is its reliance on both internal and external quality assurance mechanisms.
Quality Assurance Mechanisms
The framework relies on both internal and external quality assurance mechanisms.
External Mechanisms
Assessors—including independent academic experts, regulatory bodies such as the UGC, and international partner universities—review the standards and processes to ensure comparability with national and international benchmarks.
Internal Mechanisms
Structures like Faculty Quality Committees and CART (Company-Academic Round Table) ensure ongoing industry input and curricular relevance.
