I was part of the 20.1 batch in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and was able to graduate in 2024 with a First class and a gpa of 3.86 and was fortunate enough to receive the award for best performance in my department. Engineering has always been a field for dreamers and people who want to make an impact on the world, if you truly have a passion and interest towards this field for sure it will propel you towards a great career.
I’m grateful to have been part of NSBM’s Faculty of Engineering, which greatly elevated me and my peers. I’m currently working as a Laboratory Demonstrator at OUSL, where my undergraduate experience has been invaluable. I am Dhanushka Dissakaruna, a proud graduate of NSBM Green University, with a BSc (Hons) in Mechatronic Engineering. During my time at NSBM, I was exposed to automation, control systems, and mechanical designing. I was also fortunate enough to work as a student demonstrator and take leadership roles in the Association of Engineering. I’ve worked on several exciting projects, including electric vehicles and a LiDAR-based autonomous system for drivable area detection. I’m currently pursuing my MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Peradeniya and continuing my journey to become a well-rounded, innovative engineer.
I’m a Systems Engineer working remotely, specializing in PostgreSQL integration, backend troubleshooting, and Docker environments. I support systems like community, hotel, medical, and business intelligence applications—many of which have their own AI platforms. I also explore AI, transformers, and Large Language Models to enhance intelligent, scalable tech solutions.
Studying BSc Engineering (Hons) in Computer Systems Engineering at NSBM Green University’s Faculty of Engineering was a life-changing journey. The exceptional academic environment, supportive lecturers, and industry-oriented curriculum helped shape my path. Beyond academics, my role as Secretary of the International Center for Cultural Exchange (ICCE) gave me leadership and event management skills that still guide me today. These experiences laid the foundation for my career, and I’m now proud to serve as a Lecturer and Program Coordinator at CCTB Campus. NSBM helped me grow not just as a student, but as a professional.
