Profile
Ms. A.B.S. Sachini Tharaka is currently serving as a Temporary Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at NSBM Green University. She holds a Bachelor of Business Management (Hons) Degree in Accountancy with First Class Honours from the University of Kelaniya and is currently pursuing an MSc in Management at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She is also advancing her professional qualifications at the Strategic Level CIMA (UK).
She brings a blend of academic and professional experience, including over two years in internal auditing, where she was involved in audit planning, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. Her transition into academia has enabled her to lecture in key areas such as Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Accounting Theory, and Financial Reporting at the undergraduate level.
Her key research interests include forensic accounting, sustainability accounting and ESG reporting, fintech and digital transformation, behavioral finance, and accounting education and pedagogy. She is also engaged in student mentoring and actively contributes to academic workshops and university events. Sachini is dedicated to delivering impactful, practice-oriented education and research aimed at inspiring the next generation of accounting and finance professionals.
