NSBM Students’ Circle of Accounting and Finance Hosts EXODUS 2026 Annual Accounting Day
The Students’ Circle of Accounting and Finance (SCAF) successfully concluded EXODUS 2026 – Annual Accounting Day, marking another significant milestone in its journey of fostering knowledge, innovation, and professional excellence among aspiring accounting and finance professionals.
Held under the theme “Accounting 5.0: Human-Centered Intelligence,” EXODUS 2026 explored the evolving relationship between human intelligence, professional judgement, and emerging technologies, highlighting how these elements are shaping the future of the accounting profession.
A key highlight of the event was the successful conclusion of the EXODUS 2026 Competition, which featured a series of challenging and engaging rounds designed to test participants’ knowledge, strategic thinking, teamwork, and determination. The competition provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities while engaging with contemporary aspects of accounting and finance.
The event also marked the launch of the 5th Edition of SCAF TIMES, celebrating the creativity, commitment, and collaborative effort behind the latest edition of the publication.
Adding further significance to the occasion, Mr. Tishan Subasinghe, President of CA Sri Lanka, delivered the Keynote Address, sharing valuable insights on the evolving accounting landscape and the importance of adapting to emerging developments while preserving the value of human judgement and professional expertise.
The programme also featured an insightful panel discussion on “Accounting 5.0: Human-Centered Intelligence,” bringing together industry experts Mr. Channa Gunawardana, Chairman – Litro Gas Lanka Ltd. and Director at Nanaska; Mr. Dulip Yapa, Partner – Audit & Assurance, Deloitte Sri Lanka; and Mr. Hashan Waduge, Co-Founder & CEO – OnlineAccounting.lk. The discussion offered perspectives on the intersection of technology, human capabilities, and the future direction of the accounting profession.
With its blend of competition, professional insights, student creativity, and meaningful industry engagement, EXODUS 2026 provided a platform for students to reflect on the changing nature of accounting and the opportunities emerging at the intersection of people and technology.
