NSBM Opens Higher Education Pathways for Another Batch of After O/L Students Through Foundation Programme

NSBM Green University continues to expand opportunities for young learners by welcoming another batch of students who have completed their G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations, opening a pathway towards globally recognised higher education through the NSBM Foundation Programme.
The inauguration ceremony of the NSBM Foundation Programme – Second Intake of 2026 was held today at the NSBM Green University premises, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the newly enrolled students. The event provided students with an introduction to the opportunities, experiences, and academic pathways that await them as they progress towards becoming future-ready graduates at NSBM.
The ceremony was graced by Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Thilini De Silva, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academics, and Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic and Quality Assurance, together with the Deans of the Faculties.
Delivering an inspiring keynote address on this special occasion, Mr. Chanuka Wattegama, Director – Policy at the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka, shared valuable insights on emerging opportunities, technological transformation, and the importance of developing knowledge, skills, and adaptability in shaping a successful future.
The NSBM Foundation Programme provides students with a structured transition from secondary education to university-level studies, equipping them with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence required to pursue undergraduate degrees at NSBM Green University. Through this initiative, NSBM continues its commitment to making quality higher education accessible to aspiring young minds and nurturing the next generation of global graduates.
