NSBM MBA/MBS Residential Workshop 2026 Empowers Future Leaders Through Experiential Learning
The Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement of NSBM Green University successfully conducted the MBA/MBS Residential Workshop 2026 from 1–2 August 2026 at Cinnamon Bey, Beruwala, bringing together MBA and MBS candidates for an immersive two-day experiential learning journey focused on leadership, business communication, strategic thinking, and professional development.
The residential workshop commenced with an insightful academic session delivered by Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, on “Management in the 21st Century: Transformational Leadership.” The session explored the evolving nature of management and the importance of transformational leadership in navigating today’s dynamic business environment.
The second session, conducted by Dr. Thilini De Silva, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academics, featured an interactive Leadership Development Workshop titled “Be the Leader You Want to Work With.” The session encouraged participants to reflect on effective leadership practices, workplace relationships, and the qualities required to become impactful leaders.
The programme was conducted with the participation of Dr. Madhavi Hewadikaram, Dean – Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement, Dr. Tharindu Gunathilake, Head – Professional Advancement, and Mr. Praveen Ranaweera, Programme Coordinator – Master of Education (MEd). The workshop was organised by Ms. Rekha Kulasekara, Programme Coordinator – MBA/MBS.
Adding further depth to the learning experience, the first day continued with an immersive Business Simulation Workshop facilitated by Mr. Anton Thayalan, Chief Executive Officer of Luminary Learning Solutions, together with his expert facilitation team. Through realistic business scenarios and strategic challenges, participants were encouraged to apply their knowledge, make informed decisions, collaborate effectively, and develop confidence in addressing complex business situations.
The first day concluded with vibrant networking and team-building activities organised by the MBA/MBS candidates, fostering collaboration, peer learning, and meaningful connections among participants.
The second day of the residential programme focused on Business Communication and Leadership, culminating in an engaging Outbound Training (OBT) session facilitated by Major Shehan Pilapitiya and the professional team from Outbound Adventures. Through a series of carefully designed experiential activities, participants strengthened their leadership, communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities while learning the importance of trust, resilience, and collaboration in achieving shared goals.
The MBA/MBS Residential Workshop 2026 reflects the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement’s commitment to providing innovative learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, enabling postgraduate learners to bridge academic knowledge with practical application and prepare themselves for leadership roles in an evolving global business landscape.
