NSBM Green University welcomed its new intake of students for the final undergraduate intake of 2026 through a comprehensive orientation programme designed to help them transition into university life, understand the expectations of higher education, and prepare for their academic and personal development.

Held at the university’s Homagama campus, the programme brought together students from the Faculties of Business, Computing, Engineering and Science, introducing them to the academic environment, values, opportunities, and student experiences that define life at NSBM.

The orientation programme extended beyond the formal inauguration, offering students a series of sessions and interactive activities focused on academic readiness, responsible decision-making, personal development, and building positive relationships within the university community.

An important component of the programme addressed the responsibilities and expectations associated with university life, encouraging students to develop a positive learning mindset, maintain discipline and professional conduct, and make the most of the academic and extracurricular opportunities available to them. Sessions also explored responsible living in the digital age, positive thinking, mental well-being, and the importance of confidence and appropriate professional grooming.

The programme further encouraged active student participation through interactive activities that enabled new entrants to connect with their peers, become familiar with the university environment, and begin building a sense of belonging within the NSBM community.

As part of Day 3, students participated in an outbound training programme featuring team-based activities designed to strengthen communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills. The experience encouraged students to work together, build mutual trust, and develop interpersonal competencies that will support them throughout their university journey.

Through this comprehensive orientation experience, NSBM Green University reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates by combining academic preparation with personal growth, responsible conduct, and meaningful student engagement.
