NSBM Faculty of Computing Hosts NSBM Student Research Symposium on Innovative Technology 2026 - NSRSIT ’26
NSBM Faculty of Computing ceremoniously inaugurated the NSBM Student Research Symposium on Innovative Technology 2026 (NSRSIT ’26), themed “From Theory to Real Impact: Sustainable Digital Transformation for a Greener Planet through Innovative Intelligent Systems.” The symposium serves as a dynamic platform to explore emerging technological advancements and their potential to create sustainable solutions for global challenges.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished academics, including Dr. Nalaka Lankasena, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and Dr. Pabasari Arundathi Koliyabandara, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Civil and Environmental Technology, who joined the event as esteemed guests.
The event was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Thilini De Silva, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of NSBM Green University, along with Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Heads of Departments, senior academics, and invited guests.
Organised under the leadership of Ms. Hirushi Dilpriya, Symposium Chair; Ms. Lakni Peiris, Symposium Secretary; and Ms. Thilini Bakmeedeniya, Editor-in-Chief, NSRSIT ’26 reflects NSBM’s unwavering commitment to fostering a research-driven culture.
NSRSIT ’26 continued with a series of parallel technical sessions and poster presentations, providing a dynamic platform for students, researchers, academics, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge and showcase innovative research.
The parallel sessions were conducted under five key research tracks, addressing emerging technological trends and contemporary global challenges:

• Next-Generation Networks and Cyber Resilience
• Smart System Architecture & Enterprise Solutions
• Sustainable Computing and Green Intelligent Systems
• Open Innovations & Applied Technologies
The sessions were enriched by the participation of renowned senior lecturers from leading universities across Sri Lanka, who contributed their expertise and insights towards strengthening the academic value of the symposium.
A unique highlight of NSRSIT ’26 was the involvement of industry experts representing the NSBM Faculty of Computing alumni community as track representatives.
