NSBM Faculty of Coamputing Hosts CPD Session on Competency-Based Education

The latest Continuous Professional Development (CPD) session was held recently under the title “Beyond Knowledge: Advancing Competency-Based Education in Higher Education”. The session was organized by the Quality Assurance and Staff Development Cell of NSBM Faculty of Computing in collaboration with NSBM Quality Assurance and Staff Development Center.
Assistant Professor Mohamed Safraz, Assistant Professor in Computing and Information Systems at Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE, served as the esteemed resource person. Drawing on his expertise in student-centered learning, outcome alignment, and quality enhancement, Dr. Safraz provided insightful perspectives on shifting paradigms toward competency-driven academic frameworks.
The interactive workshop gathered over 40 academic staff members. Key discussion segments included Foundations of Competency-Based Education, Competency Frameworks and Outcome Alignment, Curriculum Design for Competency Development, Competency-Based Assessment and Feedback, and Quality Assurance and Implementation Strategies.
